Privacy Policy

Autopapyrus (autopapyrus.com) publishes car repair guides, explainers and a catalog of repair manuals. We collect as little as possible: there are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies on this site.

1. Who is responsible

This website is operated by Autopapyrus. For any question about your data, write to support@autopapyrus.ru. We reply in English.

2. What we collect

Server logs. Like almost every website, our server records each request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser’s user-agent string. We use these logs only to keep the site running, to fix errors and to protect it against abuse and attacks. Logs are deleted automatically after about two months.

Guide requests. When you ask us to put together a repair guide, we receive the vehicle and the job you entered, together with your IP address, which we use only to limit abuse. The guide we produce may be published on the site for other owners of the same car. It contains your vehicle and job, never your IP address or any other details about you. Please don’t type personal information (names, phone numbers, VINs, addresses) into the request field.

Email. If you write to us, we use your address and your message only to answer you, and we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your question.

3. Cookies and browser storage

This site does not set cookies. To save you retyping, the search form remembers the vehicle you last selected in your browser’s local storage. That information stays on your device and is not sent to us; you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

4. Links to other websites

Some pages link to booksellers such as Amazon and Haynes, and some of those links are affiliate links. We do not share any data about you with these sites. Once you follow a link, you are on their website, and their own privacy and cookie policies apply.

The 3D models in our lessons are hosted on our own server. Links to Sketchfab only credit the original authors and load nothing until you click them.

5. Legal basis

For visitors in the European Union and the United Kingdom: we process server logs and guide requests on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR / UK GDPR), and emails on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you, or to take steps you have asked for.

6. Who else sees the data

We do not sell or rent personal data and do not use it for advertising. The data is stored on servers run by our hosting provider, which may be located outside your country, including outside the EEA and the UK. We share data with authorities only where the law requires it.

7. Your rights

You can ask us to tell you what data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop processing it. Write to support@autopapyrus.ru; we will answer within one month. Note that server logs do not identify you by name, so we may need the IP address and the approximate time of your visit to find your records. If you are in the EU or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Children

The site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

If we start collecting anything new (for example, analytics or an email newsletter), we will update this page before we do, and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first. The date at the top shows the latest version.
