Hyundai Tucson (4th generation, NX4): Fuse Replacement
The Tucson NX4 has two main fuse boxes: the interior box (in the lower part of the dashboard, to the left of the driver) and the engine compartment box (under the hood, next to the battery). The fuse layout and ratings are printed on the inside of the fuse box cover or in the owner's manual. Only replace a fuse with one of the same rating.

Step by step
9 steps- Turn off the engine, switch the ignition off along with all electrical consumers, and remove the key. On vehicles with keyless entry, make sure the ignition is off and the key fob is outside the cabin.
- Identify the right fuse box: the interior box is under the instrument panel to the left of the driver, behind a plastic cover that unclips without tools; the engine compartment box is under the hood, next to the battery, with a clip-on cover.
- Remove the cover of the fuse box you need. The fuse and relay layout is on the inside of the cover. Use it to find the circuit that is not working.
- Take the fuse puller (in the engine compartment box it is usually clipped to the cover) and pull the suspect fuse straight out toward you, without tilting it.
- Hold it up to the light and inspect it: on a blown fuse, the metal element inside the transparent housing is broken. If you are unsure, check it with a multimeter in continuity mode.
- Install a new fuse with the same rating (the amperage number and color must match), pushing it all the way into the socket.
- Turn the ignition on and check that the circuit works. If the new fuse blows immediately or after a short time, there is a short circuit or overload in the circuit. You need to find the cause, not install a higher-rated fuse.
- Put the cover back until all the clips click into place. On the engine compartment box, the cover must seat tightly to keep moisture out. Return the fuse puller to its original place.
- If a high-current fuse (a large one in the engine compartment box) or a control unit power circuit fuse has blown, disconnect the negative battery terminal first. After replacement, check that the electronics work and reset settings if necessary (clock, power window memory, radio).
Common mistakes and warnings
- Never install a higher-rated fuse or use wire "bridges"
- This risks overheating the wiring and causing a fire
- If a fuse keeps blowing, there is a fault in the circuit (a short, a worn-out consumer, damaged wiring), so take the vehicle to a repair shop for diagnostics
- Exact ratings and locations of specific fuses depend on the trim level and engine, so follow the layout on your fuse box cover
