Nissan GT-R (R35): Wiper Blade Replacement

Wiper blades on the Nissan GT-R R35 can be replaced in a few minutes without tools. The front wipers are different lengths: 550 mm on the driver side and 475 mm on the passenger side. To replace a blade, release the old one from the hook-style attachment and snap the new one into place.

Part

  • 🔩 Nissan 28890-JF00A (right, driver side, 550 mm), Nissan 28890-JF01A (left, passenger side, 475 mm). OEM set. Alternatives: Bosch Aerotwin AR728-S, PIAA for R35

Step by step

8 steps
  1. Turn the ignition on, activate the wipers, and turn the ignition off when the blades are in the middle of the windshield. This makes them easier to reach.
  2. Start on the driver side. Find the small plastic tab where the blade attaches to the arm.
  3. Press the tab up toward the arm and slide the blade back toward the base of the arm, as if lowering it down.
  4. Once the blade comes free of the arm's hook, pull it a few centimeters down along the arm to detach it completely.
  5. Take the new blade of the correct length (550 mm for the driver side). Position it so the arm's hook faces the blade's attachment point.
  6. Slip the blade's attachment over the arm's hook from above, then pull the blade toward the end of the arm until it clicks. The click means it is locked in place.
  7. Repeat the procedure on the passenger side with the 475 mm blade.
  8. Tug on both blades by hand to make sure they are securely locked onto the arms.

Common mistakes and warnings

  • Genuine Nissan part numbers are tied to the vehicle's VIN, so confirm the part matches your specific chassis when ordering. Do not mix up the blades during installation: the driver side takes the 550 mm blade and the passenger side takes the 475 mm blade.
