Hyundai Solaris (Accent) 1.6 G4FC (2013): Wiper Blade Replacement

The first-generation Solaris (2010-2017) uses standard wiper arms with a hook-type blade connection. The blades can be replaced without tools, and the procedure is very simple.

Difficulty: Easy Time: 5-10 minutes Steps: 6 Tools: None required

Part

  • 🔩 OEM Hyundai 98350-1R000 (front blades, pair) or universal wiper blades, 650 mm (driver side) and 400 mm (passenger side). Aftermarket equivalents: Bosch Twin 650/400, SWF, Denso

Step by step

6 steps
  1. Open the hood.
  2. For the driver-side front blade: lift the wiper arm all the way up until it stops, then release the blade from the arm (plastic retaining tab on top of the arm).
  3. Slide the new blade onto the arm until it clicks into place. It should fit snugly, but not too tight.
  4. Lower the wiper arm back onto the windshield.
  5. Repeat for the passenger-side blade (right side, same procedure).
  6. If the blade does not come off on the first try, make sure the wiper arm is lifted all the way up and lightly press the retaining tab with your finger. Check: Turn on the washer and wipers (multifunction stalk). The blades should glide evenly, without jerking or squeaking. If they squeak, wipe the blades and the windshield with a damp cloth.

Common mistakes and warnings

  • Do not buy very cheap wiper blades. They wear out quickly, often within a single season. For winter, a winter-type blade (with a protective cover) and a winter-grade washer fluid that resists freezing are recommended.
