Hyundai Solaris (Accent) 1.6 G4FC (2013): Air Filter Replacement
The air filter on the G4FC should be replaced every 15,000 km or once a year. The filter housing is located on the left side of the engine under a plastic cover. The job takes 10-15 minutes and requires no tools.
Part
- 🔩 Hyundai 28113-02050 (aftermarket equivalents: Mann C 30 148, Filtron AP 110/2)
Step by step
8 steps- Open the hood and locate the black plastic filter housing on the left side of the engine (driver's side).
- Disconnect the air intake duct (the corrugated hose) from the housing cover by slightly sliding the clamp or releasing the plastic clip.
- Unclip the 4 plastic latches around the perimeter of the housing cover (one at each corner).
- Lift the cover up and remove the old filter.
- Wipe the inside of the housing with a dry rag or vacuum it to remove dust and dirt.
- Install the new filter with the pleats facing up (the direction is indicated by an arrow on the housing).
- Close the housing cover and press all 4 latches until they click.
- Reconnect the air intake duct, then tighten the clamp or snap the clip into place.
Common mistakes and warnings
- Do not run the engine without checking that the filter seats snugly in the housing. Air will bypass the filter, and the MAF sensor will give incorrect readings. If an oil-soaked filter is left in service for a long time, fuel consumption may increase and engine power may drop.
