Hyundai Solaris (Accent) 1.6 G4FC (2013): Low Beam Bulb Replacement

On the first-generation Solaris (2010-2017), the low beams use H7 halogen bulbs. The replacement is done from the front without removing the headlight, but it requires raising the hood and sometimes partially removing the fender liner to reach the connector.

Difficulty: Easy Time: 15-20 minutes Steps: 7 Tools: Phillips screwdriver (optional), 10 mm wrench or socket may be needed to remove the fender liner

Part

  • 🔩 H7 55W bulb. OE Hyundai 37500-26000 (universal equivalents: Osram Cool Blue, Philips Vision Plus)

Step by step

7 steps
  1. Open the hood and locate the headlight on the side you need (left or right).
  2. On the back of the headlight, find the plastic H7 bulb holder. It is inserted into the reflector and latched in place.
  3. Turn the holder counterclockwise 90 degrees and pull it out together with the bulb.
  4. Do not touch the glass of the new bulb with your fingers. Leave it in its packaging or wear clean gloves. Halogen glass is damaged by skin oils.
  5. Insert the new bulb into the holder, make sure the contacts line up, and turn the holder clockwise until it clicks.
  6. Check the lights (turn the ignition on and switch on the low beams).
  7. Repeat the procedure on the other headlight if it also needs replacing.

Common mistakes and warnings

  • Replace H7 bulbs in pairs (both headlights). The difference in brightness between an old and a new bulb is noticeable and reduces safety. Do not use a rag when installing the bulb. It leaves microscopic scratches on the glass, and the bulb may burn out sooner.
