Geely Atlas 2.0 JLC-4G20 (2019): Engine Air Filter Replacement

On the JLC-4G20 engine, the air filter should be replaced every 10,000-20,000 km (6,000-12,000 miles) or once a year. The exact interval depends on driving conditions. The main challenge is removing the plastic decorative engine cover. The filter itself takes only a few minutes to replace.

Difficulty: Medium Time: 15-30 minutes Steps: 9 Tools: medium flat-blade screwdriver, long Phillips screwdriver (a cordless drill/driver with a long bit can make the job easier)

Part

  • 🔩 Geely 2032007600 (aftermarket equivalents: JS Asakashi A3014, Aiko A3014; filters measuring 245×225×45 mm will fit)

Step by step

9 steps
  1. Open the hood and locate the air filter housing on the left side (driver's side).
  2. Remove the plastic decorative engine bay cover. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to gently pry up and remove the retaining clips (pull each clip out about 1 cm, then remove it completely). Remove the clips from the front and left panels.
  3. Release the stopper at the junction of the fender and the body. Pull the panel toward the opposite fender to unlock the retaining clips in the fender, then remove the panel.
  4. Loosen the clamp on the air duct at the filter housing and remove the duct.
  5. Remove the 6 bolts holding the top of the filter housing with a Phillips screwdriver.
  6. Lift off the housing cover and take out the old filter.
  7. Wipe dust and small debris out of the housing with a clean, dry rag.
  8. Install the new filter. If you are fitting an aftermarket filter, you may need to flatten out the rubber side seals with a screwdriver so the filter seats tightly.
  9. Reassemble in reverse order: close the cover, tighten the 6 bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern, attach the air duct and tighten the clamp, install the plastic panel, and snap all the clips into place.

Common mistakes and warnings

  • Do not use excessive force when removing the plastic panel. The clips in the fender are brittle and can break. Do not use any cleaning agents on the filter housing. Wipe it with a dry rag only.
