Changan CS75 Plus 1.8T (2019): Engine Oil and Oil Filter Change
The scheduled oil and filter change interval for the CS75 is 10,000 km or once a year. Under severe conditions (city driving, heavy traffic, short trips), it is better to change it every 7,000-8,000 km. On a turbocharged engine, use only high-quality synthetic oil and always replace the filter together with the oil. Check the exact fill capacity and the oil specification for your trim level against the marking on the oil filler cap and the dipstick.

Tools
8- Wrench or socket for the oil pan drain plug (check the size against the plug)
- oil filter wrench (strap type or cup type matching the filter size)
- torque wrench
- drain pan of at least 6 L (6.3 qt)
- funnel
- shop rags
- gloves
- jack with jack stands or a lift
Step by step
13 steps- Warm the engine up to operating temperature for 5-10 minutes so the oil becomes thinner and drains better. Shut off the engine and wait 3-5 minutes.
- Park the vehicle on level ground and set the parking brake. Raise the front end on a lift or on a jack with solid jack stands. Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack.
- If an engine undercover (skid plate) is installed, remove it (usually a few bolts or self-tapping screws).
- Remove the oil filler cap on the engine. This speeds up draining.
- Place the drain pan under the oil pan drain plug and unscrew the plug. Hold it firmly so you do not drop it into the hot oil. Let the oil drain for at least 10 minutes.
- Clean the plug and its seat, and replace the sealing washer. Install the plug and tighten it with a torque wrench. As a guideline for pans like this, use 25-40 N·m (18-30 lb-ft) (for the exact value, see the manufacturer's service manual). Do not overtighten, to avoid stripping the threads in the aluminum oil pan.
- Move the drain pan under the oil filter and unscrew the filter with the filter wrench. Wipe off any oil left in the filter and on the mounting surface.
- Before installing, fill the new filter about one third full with fresh oil (if its position allows) and lubricate the rubber gasket with oil. Make sure the old gasket has not stayed behind on the engine.
- Screw the filter on by hand until the gasket touches, then tighten it about 3/4 of a turn more, or to the torque specified on the filter housing. Do not overtighten it with a tool.
- Pour about 4 L (4.2 qt) of oil into the filler neck, wait a couple of minutes, and check the level on the dipstick. Add oil in small amounts up to the MAX mark (not above it). Close the filler cap.
- Start the engine and let it run for 30-60 seconds. The oil pressure warning light should go out 1-2 seconds after startup. Check for leaks at the drain plug and the filter.
- Shut off the engine, wait 5-10 minutes, and check the level on the dipstick again. Top up to the mark if necessary.
- Reinstall the engine undercover. Reset the service interval indicator according to the instructions for your trim level (if there is one on the instrument cluster). Take the used oil to a collection point for recycling.
Common mistakes and warnings
- A turbocharged engine is very sensitive to oil level and quality: underfilling and overfilling are equally harmful (overfilling can lead to oil getting into the intake and contaminating the catalytic converter, while underfilling leads to turbocharger wear). Drain the oil when the engine is warm but not hot, to avoid burns. Do not use mineral oils or cheap semi-synthetic oils. If you have no experience working under a vehicle, it is better to go to a repair shop.
