Haval F7 1.5 Turbo (GW4B15A, 150 hp) (2025): Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
Oil changes on the 1.5 Turbo GW4B15A are done every 10,000 km or once a year. The engine requires full synthetic oil meeting API SN, in 0W-30 or 5W-30 viscosity. The lubrication system capacity is 4.8 L (5.1 qt). The procedure is standard and can be done in a home garage.
Part
- 🔩 Engine oil 5W-30 or 0W-30 API SN (full synthetic), 4.8 L (5.1 qt). Oil filter 1017100XEB02, drain plug gasket 1009305XEC06
Step by step
9 steps- Warm the engine up to operating temperature (80-90°C), shut it off, and let it cool for 5 minutes.
- Raise the front of the vehicle on a lift or set it on secure jack stands. Remove the engine skid plate (6 bolts, 6 plastic clips).
- Place the drain pan under the drain hole in the oil pan. Remove the drain plug with a 17 mm wrench (counterclockwise). Let the oil drain completely (5-7 minutes).
- Replace the copper drain plug gasket with a new one (1009305XEC06). Install the plug and tighten to 25-35 N·m (18-26 lb-ft) (if you don't have a torque wrench, hand-tight plus a quarter turn with the wrench).
- Move the pan under the oil filter (located on the right side of the engine, with limited access). Loosen the filter with a claw-type or chain filter wrench, then unscrew it by hand. Wipe the mounting surface on the block.
- Lubricate the rubber gasket of the new filter with clean oil. Screw the new filter on by hand until the gasket touches the block, then tighten an additional three-quarters of a turn (do not use a tool to tighten it).
- Pour 4.5 L (4.8 qt) of oil through the oil filler neck. Close the cap, start the engine for 30-60 seconds, and let the oil pressure light go out.
- Shut off the engine and wait 3-5 minutes. Check the level with the dipstick; the mark should be between MIN and MAX. Top up if needed to the middle of the range (usually an additional 200-300 mL (7-10 fl oz)).
- Inspect the drain plug and filter for leaks. Reinstall the skid plate.
Common mistakes and warnings
- Do not mix oils of different brands or viscosities unless absolutely necessary. Use only synthetic oils rated API SN or higher, because a turbocharged engine is very sensitive to oil quality. Replace the drain plug gasket at every oil change, since reusing it leads to leaks.
