KGM Korando (4th generation): Low Beam Bulb Replacement
The low beams on the 4th-generation Korando (C300) use 55W H7 halogen bulbs. Replacement is done from the engine compartment through the rear covers of the headlights, without removing the headlight assembly.
Part
- 🔩 H7 12V 55W bulb (standard halogen). Equivalents: Philips H7, Osram H7, Bosch H7. Available in standard, +30% and +50% brightness versions, depending on the manufacturer
Step by step
10 steps- Open the hood and secure it with the prop rod. The engine must be cold.
- Locate the back of the headlight assembly on the corresponding side (the left headlight is behind the left fender, the right headlight is behind the right fender).
- Turn the protective rubber or plastic cover on the back of the headlight (8-10 cm (3-4 in) in diameter) counterclockwise and remove it.
- Disconnect the low beam bulb's power connector by pulling on the connector body (not the wires).
- Release the bulb from its holder: press the spring retaining clip and disengage it, then remove the bulb.
- Handle the new H7 bulb with a clean cloth or while wearing gloves (oil from your fingers shortens the life of a halogen bulb).
- Install the new bulb in the holder base-first, and secure it with the spring clip.
- Plug in the power connector until it clicks.
- Put the protective cover back in place and turn it clockwise until it locks.
- Check that the low beams work before driving.
Common mistakes and warnings
- Do not touch the glass envelope of a halogen bulb with bare hands. Oil residue causes overheating and premature failure. If you touch it, wipe it with rubbing alcohol or a clean cloth. If you switch to LED H7 bulbs, make sure they are compatible with the vehicle's electronics (no bulb-out warning errors). Some LED bulbs require CANbus decoders to be installed.
