SsangYong Kyron 2.0 XDi (2010): Cabin Air Filter Replacement
The cabin air filter on the SsangYong Kyron is located behind the glove box on the passenger side. The manufacturer recommends replacing it every 15,000 km or once a year. The procedure is simple, and tools are usually not needed.

Step by step
13 steps- Open the front passenger door and lower the glove box to its lowest position.
- Empty the glove box to make access easier.
- On both sides of the glove box, find the limit stops (plastic stops or clips) that keep it from dropping all the way down.
- Squeeze the sides of the glove box inward or release the stops, then lower the glove box all the way down. This exposes the filter housing behind it.
- Find the rectangular cabin air filter housing cover (usually white or gray, with clips on the sides).
- Release the two side clips on the cover by pulling them toward you or downward (this depends on the model year. On the 2010 Kyron, the clips usually slide sideways).
- Remove the cover by pulling it toward you.
- Pull the old cabin air filter out of the housing. Note the direction of the airflow arrow on the frame (the arrow usually points down).
- Wipe out the filter housing with a dry rag or vacuum out any leaves and dust.
- Install the new filter in the housing, following the airflow arrow (the arrow must point down, toward the cabin).
- Put the housing cover back on and press the side clips until they click into place.
- Return the glove box to its original position and engage the stops on both sides.
- Run the heater fan at speed 2-3 and check for unusual noises and normal airflow.
Common mistakes and warnings
- Do not install the filter against the airflow direction, as this reduces filtering efficiency. If you drive in dusty conditions or in the city, replace the filter more often (every 10,000 km).
