Lada Granta: Cabin Air Filter Replacement
The cabin air filter on the Lada Granta is located under the hood on the passenger side near the windshield, under the plastic cowl cover. The replacement interval is every 15,000 km. In dusty conditions, shorten it to 7,500-10,000 km. The procedure is simple and needs no special equipment.
Part
- 🔩 11180-8122010-82 (particle filter) or 11180-8122010-83 (carbon filter). Aftermarket equivalents: BM FA 1118, Knecht LA 933
Step by step
7 steps- Open the hood. For easier access, park the wipers in the vertical position (turn the ignition on, press the wiper stalk, and turn the ignition off when the blades are at the top of their travel).
- Use a Torx T20 driver to remove the five self-tapping screws holding the right windshield cowl cover, then remove the cover.
- Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two self-tapping screws on the filter housing cover.
- Remove the cover, press in the two clips on the sides, and pull out the old filter.
- Clean the filter seat and the drain hole of the water drainage box to remove leaves and debris (access it from the engine bay or through the right front wheel well).
- Install the new filter with the arrow on the label pointing down (in the direction of airflow) and the "front" marking facing the front of the car. Secure the side clips.
- Install the cover and tighten the two self-tapping screws. Install the cowl cover. Make sure the tabs on the cover go behind the fender flange, then tighten the five self-tapping screws.
Common mistakes and warnings
- Do not install the filter with the arrow pointing up. This disrupts the airflow direction and reduces filtering efficiency. If the drain hole is clogged, water collects under the cowl cover and can get into the cabin, so be sure to clear it whenever you replace the filter.
